ENERGY SAVING ELECTRIC SHOWERS

Energy Saving Electric Showers

Why Energy Efficient Electric Shower Installations?

reduction in the average amount of water used per person

Our electricians have installed a number of energy efficient electric showers recently to coincide with the Government requirements on water conservation. These electric showers offer efficient flow rates and are installed with water saver shower heads which limit water usage. Our electricians will confirm that this will not affect your showering experience; it will just help you conserve water and ultimately save money too! See other Energy Saving Electrical Installations here.

Water Conservation – Motivating Energy Efficient Electric Shower Installations

Water Conservation

Water, as we are all aware is a resource that should be used with care. Water from rivers, lakes and other natural areas has a direct impact on wildlife too. Find out how to cut your water use, save money on your water bills and help the environment by conserving water.

In conjunction with other conservation projects that affect electricians and other trades, the Government have introduced more targets including:

  • A reduction in the average amount of water used per person on a daily basis to 120 litres from the current level of 150 litres by 2030.
  • Reviewing the charging process for water including the utilisation of water meters to encourage the use of water efficient products in the home. This will ultimately benefit the customer due to reduced water bills.
  • The ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’, stipulates that all new homes should have a Code rating against the Code and for a specific certificate to be included in the Home Information Pack (HIP).

Why is Saving Water at Home Important?

Our electricians can explain the benefits of energy efficient electric showers but there is less water per person in the UK than in a number of European countries. We must be cautious in our approach to the use of water given that treating, transporting and heating domestic water consumes lots of energy. Fuel bills rise and ultimately there is an increase in greenhouse gases, which contributes to climate change.

Mr Electric electricians will confirm the process for conserving water from an electrical point of view; however we encourage consumers to consider all the water conservation options. Click here for more water conservation advice.

Energy Saving Showers Offer Water Conservation?

For new build construction, showers and baths use approximately 45% of the water. There are a number of contributing factors to this level of water usage including modern plumbing, en-suite bathrooms and our lifestyles; however an energy saving electric shower installed by an electrician can reduce this usage!

When correctly installed by an electrician, energy saving showers can use approximately a third of the water of an ordinary bath as long as people do not have too many showers in one day. Homes that operate efficiently tend to use more energy for hot water than for space heating.

Triton Showers Eco Range

T80ZWHITE Eco

Mr Electric electricians install the Eco range of showers from Triton, which offer an impressive level of performance with integrated water efficiency benefits. The Eco Range options offer an applicable maximum flow rate whether the customer has a high or low pressure water system. When correctly installed by an electrician the electric shower versions can almost halve water usage, when compared to a conventional mixer shower. For customers with a water meter that require a cost effective solution or simply those that want to make a green choice, the savings can make a difference. Visit the Triton website.

Aqualisa Quartz Electric Showers

Aqualisa Quartz Electric

Our electricians also install the Aqualisa Quartz Electric Shower, which provides an economical flow of water that’s heated on demand. Our electricians often install the Quartz Electric shower in additional shower rooms as stored hot water is not demanded. The patented Over Temperature Protection system prevents dangerously high temperatures from being selected, so it is a perfect solution for the whole family! Our electrician will provide information on this particular electric shower’s full capabilities but here is an overview:

  • Stored hot water is not required
  • Safety features such as the phased shutdown
  • Simple one push start and stop control system
  • Nozzles that provide a defined spray pattern
  • 8.5kW, 9.5kW and 10.5kW power ratings available
