FREE ELECTRICAL CHECKS BY AN EXPERIENCED ELECTRICIANMr. Electric, the UK’s leading local electrician franchise has launched a new website, that is designed to give all UK households the chance to access a free domestic visual electrical installation check. The initiative from Mr. Electric is just part of the company’s ongoing focus on electrical safety and is in response to recent statistics, that show that over 1,120 people annually are injured or killed due to faulty electrical installations in the home. This figure prompted Mr. Electric to provide customers with the opportunity to take advantage of a domestic visual electrical installation check. |

By going to www.electricalsafetycheck.com, homeowners can not only access electrical safety information from qualified electricians but can also request their free check by filling out the online form. One of Mr. Electric’s highly qualified electricians will then contact the customer to arrange a suitable time to visit. Clive Houlston, managing director of Mr. Electric UK, said when launching the website: “We are extremely proud to be the first in our industry to make such a strong commitment to electrical safety for millions of householders throughout the UK. We have invested heavily in this campaign as a whole as we believe it will become an essential tool for many UK residents.” Phil Buckle, director of charitable affairs at the Electrical Safety Council, comments: “We’re surrounded by it 24/7 but because we can’t see it, smell it or hear it we tend to take for granted the electricity that powers our homes, forgetting that it can injure or even kill through electric shock or electric fire. “In fact, the Electrical Safety Council’s own research has found that one in three householders have never had or cannot remember ever having had the electrics in their homes checked by a qualified electrician, meaning that potential problems can unfortunately remain undetected. At the very least, a fault with an electrical installation in your home could be an inconvenience but at worst the consequences could be ultimately more serious, threatening personal safety.” Tom Endean, marketing manager for the British Franchise Association (BFA), states: “All members of the BFA, such as Mr. Electric have had their business procedures scrutinised and have passed the necessary checks to gain membership. This inherently provides a much stronger business to provide a high level of electrician service.” Clive concludes: “Electricity can be a potentially fatal force and one that needs to be understood. Reports about electrical related accidents are always in the press and most of these could have been prevented with some foresight and awareness about electrical safety. With the introduction of the new website and free check by an experienced electrician we hope to inform customers and play our part in reducing the number of electrical accidents in the UK.”
