2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a report on &#8220;LandlordZone&#8221; it explains there is a shortage of qualified staff to carry it out and a huge amount of properties to retest on their 5 year anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-683\" width=\"335\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-464x464.jpg 464w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02-192x192.jpg 192w, https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2018\/07\/domestic-electrician-body-image-02.jpg 1232w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This is following the introduction of compulsory EICR&#8217;s for let properties in June 2020 (new tenancies) and April 2021 for existing tenancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repairs and maintenance platform Fixflo says its research among a sample of 90,000 properties within its database reveals approximately 90% are due to have their EICRs renewed between now and 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fixflo says property managers should renew their EICRs early to avoid the predicted rush to book up registered and qualified electricians as the deadlines loom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rush is taking place because the EICRs became mandatory during 2021 and most were completed that year but must be renewed after five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Shortages:<\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fixflo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Fixflo&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a>says the electrical services sector, which is already affected by shortages of qualified staff, is likely to see more strain put on contractors as millions of EICRs come up for renewal, leading to higher prices and lower availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis predicted surge in EICRs assessments shows the importance of ensuring inspections are arranged and carried out early and well before their due date,\u201d Fixflo\u2019s Product Training Manager,\u00a0<strong>Jessica Dubey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRegulations around electrical safety in properties are strict, and with fines of up to \u00a35,000 for a first offence or \u00a330,000 for multiple breaches, plus a risk of rental voids if a property doesn\u2019t have an up-to-date EICR, it\u2019s in everyone\u2019s interest to start booking as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mr-electric.co.uk\/cornwall\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/03\/Helston-EICR-Test-Mr-Electric-Cornwall-Plymouth--e1553606959330-1024x765.jpeg\" alt=\"Helston EICR Test Carried Out By Mr. Electric Cornwall &amp;
