Ever thought of having an Electric Vehicle Charger installed?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now is the time, as there is a grant available of \u00a3500.00 from 1<sup>st<\/sup> April 2026 for Holiday let\/homeowners that are either paying VAT or registered for Business Rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The grant is currently \u00a3350, so if you have already applied for a voucher and not used it, you can reapply to get the higher rate after April 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">See below for details of Grants available:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OZEV\u2019s&nbsp;home and workplace grants&nbsp;have been extended&nbsp;for a final year&nbsp;with&nbsp;a streamlined, simplified portfolio:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>5&nbsp;grant&nbsp;schemes have been extended until 31 March 2027, with new grant rates.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>3 schemes will close on 31 March 2026.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The government reserves the right to end or change this grant scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If&nbsp;a&nbsp;grant ends or the grant amount changes, the government will:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>aim to provide 4 weeks\u2019 notice&nbsp;<\/li><li>honour claims made before any public announcement, subject to the grant criteria<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"grants-that-are-closing-on-31-march-2026\">Grants that are closing on 31 March 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following grants will close:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-infrastructure-grant-for-staff-and-fleets-1\">staff and fleets grant<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-and-infrastructure-grants-for-landlords-1\">commercial landlord chargepoint grant<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-and-infrastructure-grants-for-landlords-1\">residential landlord infrastructure grant<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"grants-available-for-homes-from-1-april-2026\">Grants available for homes from 1 April 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for these grants is available until 31 March 2027:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-grant-for-renters-and-flat-owners-1\">flats and renters grant<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-and-infrastructure-grants-for-landlords-1\">residential landlord chargepoint grant<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/electric-vehicle-chargepoint-grant-for-households-with-on-street-parking-1\">households with on-street parking grant<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"changes-to-grant-rates-for-homes\">Changes to grant rates for homes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum grant rate for these schemes will increase from \u00a3350 to \u00a3500 per socket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents and landlords applying from 1 April 2026 will be eligible for up to \u00a3500 per socket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"changes-to-the-application-and-claims-process\">Changes to the application and claims process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1 April 2026, there will also be some changes to the application and claims process for the flats and renters grant and the residential landlord chargepoint grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"grants-available-for-workplaces-from-1-april-2026\">Grants available for workplaces from 1 April 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the following grant is available until 31 March 2027:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/workplace-charging-scheme-2\">Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"changes-to-grant-rates-for-workplaces\">Changes to grant rates for workplaces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum grant rate for the WCS will increase from \u00a3350 to \u00a3500 per socket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses and other workplaces will be eligible for up to&nbsp;\u00a3500 per socket for installations completed from 1 April 2026, regardless of when they applied for a grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"grants-available-for-state-funded-education-institutions-from-1-april-2026\">Grants available for state-funded education institutions from 1 April 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the following grant is available until 31 March 2027:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/workplace-charging-scheme-for-state-funded-education-institutions\">WCS for state-funded education institutions<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"changes-to-grants-rates-for-education-institutions\">Changes to grants rates for education institutions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum grant rate for the WCS grant for state-funded education institutions will decrease from \u00a32,500 to \u00a32,000 per socket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Education institutions applying from 1 April 2026 will be eligible for up to \u00a32,000 per socket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications before 1 April 2026 will remain eligible for \u00a32,500 per socket if vouchers &nbsp;are redeemed before 30 September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"new-service\">New Find a grant service for the flats and renters and residential landlord chargepoint grants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the new service opens on 1 April&nbsp;2026, there will be some changes to the way the flats and renters grant and residential landlord grant are applied for, claimed and processed. This will mean that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>customers&nbsp;will need to&nbsp;register&nbsp;for a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/\">Find a grant account<\/a>&nbsp;to apply&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>customers will apply for the flats and renters grant directly, rather than&nbsp;being sent a link by their installer&nbsp;<\/li><li>customers and installers will be notified&nbsp;by&nbsp;email&nbsp;if an application is successful&nbsp;and&nbsp;sent terms and conditions for the grant scheme<\/li><li>installers&nbsp;will be provided with a link to&nbsp;a digital form&nbsp;to claim the grant<\/li><li>installers will receive email notifications when a claim is rejected for further evidence, declined or approved, and will need to keep track of this &#8211; there will not be a portal where installers&nbsp;can check the&nbsp;status of their claims<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"transition-to-find-a-grant\">Transition to Find a grant&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The current portal will close&nbsp;to customer applications&nbsp;on 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the Find a grant platform opens, customers who applied&nbsp;for a grant&nbsp;before 1 April&nbsp;will be able to reapply for the higher&nbsp;\u00a3500&nbsp;grant rate using the new service.&nbsp;Their&nbsp;old application will be cancelled and the&nbsp;new one&nbsp;will be assessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&nbsp;do not wish to re-apply,&nbsp;your installer will be able to&nbsp;fit your chargepoint and claim the&nbsp;grant&nbsp;on the current portal&nbsp;(up to \u00a3350 per socket)&nbsp;until&nbsp;it closes&nbsp;for&nbsp;claims&nbsp;on&nbsp;26 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that date&nbsp;your application will expire and you&nbsp;will need to submit a new application on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/\">Find a grant<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Installers who have&nbsp;submitted claims on the current portal will have up to&nbsp;6 July to provide any further evidence requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If&nbsp;a claim&nbsp;can not&nbsp;be&nbsp;processed&nbsp;installers&nbsp;will have the opportunity to&nbsp;re-claim on the Find a&nbsp;grant platform for a limited period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"timescales-forassessingapplications-and-claims\">Timescales for&nbsp;assessing&nbsp;applications and claims&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially we estimate that&nbsp;it&nbsp;will take up to 10 working days to assess applications&nbsp;and claims submitted on Find a grant.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chargepoints must not be installed until we have notified you that you are eligible for a grant. We will notify your installer at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"closure-ofgrant-schemes\">Closure of&nbsp;grant schemes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;timeline&nbsp;for the closure of the&nbsp;staff and&nbsp;fleets,&nbsp;commercial landlord and residential landlord infrastructure grants is as follows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>last date for customers?to?apply for a grant \u2013?31?March?2026?&nbsp;<\/li><li>last&nbsp;date for installers to claim?a grant?\u2013?26 May?2026<\/li><li>last date for?installers to resubmit claims?if?further information?requested?\u20136 July ?2026?&nbsp;(unless current deadline is earlier)&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means&nbsp;installers&nbsp;will have&nbsp;3 months&nbsp;from the announcement&nbsp;of the&nbsp;closure&nbsp;on&nbsp;25 February to complete installations and&nbsp;submit&nbsp;claims.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"processing-of-claims\">Processing of claims&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be&nbsp;enough time to process all claims, so long as&nbsp;installers&nbsp;provide&nbsp;the&nbsp;required evidence&nbsp;within the deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if claims are&nbsp;submitted&nbsp;on the&nbsp;closing date (26 May 2026), there&nbsp;will be time for at least 2 resubmissions if&nbsp;installers&nbsp;respond promptly to requests.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before taking on any new work, please make sure you will be able to meet these deadlines for claims and any resubmissions.
